In de wereld van de geest bestaat geen achteruitgang. De sterfelijke wereld is een wereld van tegenstellingen. Daar beweging onontkoombaar is, moet alles òf vooruit- òf achteruitgaan. In het rijk van de geest is geen teruggang mogelijk; alle beweging moet naar een staat van volmaaktheid gaan. ‘Vooruitgang’ is de uitdrukking van de geest in de stoffelijke wereld. De intelligentie van de mens, zijn denk- en begripsvermogen, zijn kennis, zijn wetenschappelijke verworvenheden, zij alle hebben, daar zij openbaringen van de geest zijn, deel aan de onvermijdelijke wet van geestelijke vooruitgang en zijn daarom noodzakelijkerwijs onvergankelijk.

There is no doubt that the tests are severe. The more a soul resists and shows firmness and steadfastness, the greater will be his progress, and he shall soar to the sublimest heights of the Kingdom.

As this physical frame is the throne of the inner temple, whatever occurs to the former is felt by the latter. In reality that which takes delight in joy or is saddened by pain is the inner temple of the body, not the body itself. Since this physical body is the throne whereon the inner temple is established, God hath ordained that the body be preserved to the extent possible, so that nothing that causeth repugnance may be experienced. The inner temple beholdeth its physical frame, which is its throne. Thus, if the latter is accorded respect, it is as if the former is the recipient. The converse is likewise true…

And if, at one time, through the care of an able physician, a member of that body was healed, the rest remained afflicted as before. Thus informeth you the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

When the friends do not endeavour to spread the message, they fail to remember God befittingly, and will not witness the tokens of assistance and confirmation from the Abha Kingdom nor comprehend the divine mysteries. However, when the tongue of the teacher is engaged in teaching, he will naturally himself be stimulated, will become a magnet attracting the divine aid and bounty of the Kingdom, and will be like unto the bird at the hour of dawn, which itself becometh exhilarated by its own singing, its warbling and its melody.
